Seminar Title: 'Illuminating Human Genetic Architecture using Global Population Genomics'

Brief Description: A primary aim of human genomics is to characterize the basic genetic variation underlying phenotype, but for many traits, the portability of the architecture is poor across diverse human groups. I will discuss our efforts to understand differences in genetic architecture through simulation and admixed genomes, with a special focus on tuberculosis susceptibility as the phenotype of interest.

The MCB Work in Progress Seminar Series highlights research by MCB faculty, graduate students and lab personnel. Participants present their current findings, methodologies, and preliminary results. This seminar series fosters collaboration, strengthens research skills, and supports the professional growth of emerging scholars and research staff while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence.
