Research Interests

My aim is to create an engaging and inclusive student-centered learning environment to support students' disciplinary literacy in biochemistry and molecular biology. To do so I study how different inclusive and evidence-based teaching practices can not only help students master course content, but enable them to think, read, write, and engage like scientists. I am also interested in examining how authentic biochemistry research experiences can foster student curiosity and a stronger sense of scientific identity.
