All first quarter CBS transfer students are required to complete First-Year Mandatory Advising. Transfer students will complete a one-on-one MA appointment. All students will receive email communication with more details during the beginning of the fall quarter.
The purpose of MA is to give students the opportunity to learn more about academic expectations, degree requirements, supportive resources, and how to build an academic plan. During MA, students will be able to get questions answered about major and GE requirements and plan for the next 1-2 quarters. Transfer students may also wish to discuss questions related to transferring of units and an Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC).
MA must be completed by the end of November. Students who do not complete MA will have a hold on their record that prevents Winter Pass 2 registration. Express Advising will not satisfy the MA requirement.
